Taste of the Nation Kicks Off With Brunch on March 3

Taste of the Nation has always been one of my favorite events in DC.  It brings together great restaurants and chefs, and supports a great cause: Share Our Strength’s No Kid Hungry campaign, which includes support for our local beneficiaries Capitol Area Food Bank, DC Hunger Solutions and Mary’s Center.  The one thing that has always been missing is brunch.  Well, until this year.

On Saturday, March 3, Taste of The Nation will hold a Pre-Event Brunch at Jack Rose (2007 18th St., NW) from 12:30 until 3:00pm.  A group of chefs, mixologists and baristas will come together to create everything on the brunch table, all with the united goal to raise additional funds and awareness towards ending childhood hunger in America.

Guests can look forward to sampling sweet and savory brunch items from local favorites such as Belga Café, the pastry team from Northside Social, Lyon Hall and Liberty Tavern, Bar Pilar/ Cafe- St. Ex, Domku and Shake Shack.  Additionally, Gina Chersevani, Taste of the Nation Mixologist Chair, and peers from Jack Rose, Tabard Inn and Tryst will all craft individual brunch cocktails for guests to sip on. Throughout the event, baristas from Peregrine Espresso will be brewing a variety of different coffees, all from specialty coffee roaster Counter Culture Coffee.

Tickets are $45 and available here.  100% of the ticket proceeds from this event will support Share Our Strength’s efforts to end childhood hunger in DC and around the U.S.
